Desert Ode to Van Gogh — I was inspired to paint this after experiencing the Van Gogh immersion which gave me more insight into the character, struggles and triumphs of this iconic artist. My latest painting in the Masters Series, Desert Ode to Van Gogh, incorporates many elements of Van Gogh’s style into a painting of the desert. Some of those elements include the use of broken lines, almond blossoms, and crows from his Wheat Field painting. Van Gogh is also known for his dark, dreamy skies which is a key element in this painting. Unlike much of Van Gogh’s work, however, Ode is joyful and full of hope and light.
