Local Legend: Ted Berghausen Meet the Artist

Join us Thursday 3/6/35 from 5:30pm -7:00pm  to meet local artist Ted Berghausen. Ted retired after 20 years as an orthopedic surgeon, and felt a creative void missing in his life. Surgery is an art form in itself, and when he found painting, he felt that same passion and excitement revitalized – what an amazing new chapter! Ted particularly enjoys painting the western landscape, and the ever-changing light on the mountains that surround us here in southern Arizona.

Ray Tigerman/Matt Sievers + Live Music

Madaras Gallery presents new paintings by Ray Tigerman and Matt Sievers. There will also be a live acoustic performance by Tigerman and Sievers during the Artists Reception.

Tigerman’s striking pieces are created using over 40 layers of acrylic paint in each work, with immersive images that captivate viewers through vibrant textures, colors, and a sense of mystery. Ray draws inspiration from artists such as Ed Mell and Fritz Scholder.

Siever's unique, recognizable style includes spontaneous brushwork and liberal use of the palette knife. Stacking thin layers of oil paint, he creates an unequaled depth to his landscapes.
