About the Artist: Chuck Albanese
Chuck Albanese is an artist and former Dean of Architecture at the University of Arizona. His lifelong passions for travel and architecture, combined with a rich career in art and education, have inspired him to teach thousands of students, many of whom have become architects or professional painters.
With over 40 years of teaching and practice and more than 250 built architectural projects, Chuck integrates his deep technical understanding of design into his art.
His work reflects a keen attention to light, color, and composition, offering soothing glimpses of everyday life across the globe. Chuck’s love for Tucson, particularly the iconic Barrio district, is evident in his local collections. He often incorporates pen and ink into his watercolors, adding structure and contrast to the delicate and dreamy qualities of the medium.Guided by an enduring curiosity, Chuck views painting as a journey, blending classical methods with innovative exploration. His paintings capture the textures and forms of urban spaces, travel destinations, and the beauty of the world as he experiences it. Today, Chuck continues to inspire through his art, dedicating himself fully to a creative process that bridges architecture, life, and painting.
