About the Artist: John Horejs
John Horejs began painting in 1973 and has honed his craft through self-directed study, with guidance from renowned artists Sergei Bongart, Michael Lynch, Jim Wilcox, and Olaf Moller. His work, which blends realism with impressionism, showcases his mastery of oil painting.
He had humble beginnings in the art world, starting with his first set of oil paints and a few lessons from his Aunt Barbara in the small town of Twin Falls, Idaho. His early exposure to art came from viewing paintings at the Twin Falls County Fair. Since 1986, he has grown into a successful artist, supporting his wife and their nine children solely through the sale of his oil paintings,
Specializing in wildflowers, gardens, western mountain and desert landscapes, and skyscapes, Horejs uses controlled, realistic techniques while drawing on the expressive methods of the Impressionist Movement. His art has been recognized in galleries across the U.S., where it continues to captivate with its stunning portrayal of nature’s beauty.
