"Treasures of the West": Photography by Rocky LaRose
Public Reception on Sunday, October 18 from 11am-1pm
Join us at Madaras Gallery for Treasures of the West, a photography exhibition by award-winning photographer Kathleen “Rocky” LaRose.
Rocky’s love of travel, adventure, and wildlife has taken her around the world, always with her camera by her side. Treasures of the West celebrates the remarkable wildlife and landscapes of the Western U.S., from majestic bison in Yellowstone and bears in Alaska to the wildlife closer to home. Her Tucson surroundings provide endless inspiration, including rabbits, bobcats, birds, and other animals of the Sonoran Desert.
Rocky’s path to full-time photography is equally remarkable. In 2009, she became the first woman in University of Arizona history to serve as Director of Athletics for a combined men’s and women’s intercollegiate program. Today, she brings that same focus and dedication to photography.
